Frequently Asked Questions

How are you different from other physical therapy clinics? The mission of Trifecta Physical Therapy is to provide individualized, one-on-one sessions with recovery, training, and prevention in mind. Because of the nature of health care costs and issues with reimbursement, many outpatient PT clinics require their licensed PTs to double-book patients, teach group classes, or limit treatment sessions to 30 minutes in order to make ends meet. I simply do not believe that clients can get the focused and individualized attention they deserve with that type of practice model! In addition, many PT clinics have an open gym environment that lacks privacy, and your therapeutic exercises may be supervised by an assistant or aide without advanced training or certification. With Trifecta Physical Therapy, all sessions are private and at your home, office, or other location of convenience to you. Evaluations are 90-minutes in duration and follow-up sessions are 60-minutes, which allows us to ensure that we are not rushing through any part of your assessment or treatment.

You make house calls?YES! Let’s face it, getting there can be part of the barrier to success and sustainability. At Trifecta PT, one-on-one, individualized sessions are held at your home or other location of your choosing. The benefits of this in situ approach to your care includes: Convenience. No more worries about being late to an appointment or taking more time out of your day to get there. Real-world problem solving. Problems with ergonomics and body mechanics can be assessed and mitigated with your own stuff and in your own space. Privacy and comfort. No busy PT gyms, where you are talking about your injury next to other patients. No sterile and cold clinic rooms. This is your health, cared for in your own place.
-
You can't just fix me or my injury?NO. Our health is a process and journey, not a destination. Quick fixes do not lead to long term physical well-being, and therefore does not align with the mission of Trifecta PT. Rather, the goal of Trifecta PT is to: - Restore stability and mobility for optimal movement and then teach you the body awareness and muscle control needed to build resilience against future injury - Build a sustainable, challenging, and safe exercise program to maximize your physical stamina and fitness - Support and promote healthy behaviors, choices, and habits that enhance lifelong wellness and joy of physical activity.
-
How much does it cost?Trifecta PT offers rates that are comparable to or less than the typical fees billed to health insurance provides for physical therapy evaluation and treatment, especially given the length of evaluation and of follow-up sessions. Please see the "Pricing" section for details.
-
What if I’m too busy or travel too often for frequent appointments? All clients are welcome to email me between sessions with questions about your progress, and we will work a schedule that is individualized to your busy life. In addition, Trifecta PT offers an add-on concierge service, where you have access to phone calls 3x per week and unlimited texting for clients who travel or are always on-the-go. Tele-health video conferencing appointments are in the works, but not available at this time.

Do I need to get a referral from my physician first? In the state of Oregon, you can self-refer to a licensed physical therapist for evaluation and treatment of injuries, pain, or physical mobility limitations. You do not need a medical referral first. During our initial evaluation, I will determine if you should see your primary care or other physician or refer you to the appropriate provider, if needed. I can also submit a summary of your evaluation to any health provider, if you'd like. If the duration of your physical therapy plan of care exceeds 60 days, you will be required to obtain a medical referral to continue physical therapy, in accordance to the regulations established by the Physical Therapist Licensing Board for the State of Oregon. There are no specific regulations guiding self-referral for physical training or wellness evaluation or treatment.
-
Is this covered by my insurance?MAYBE. Trifecta PT does not contract with private health insurance or Medicare. For clients with private insurance, a superbill will be provided by request in order for you to submit a claim. Please contact your insurance company and/or your health saving account provider for specific information on how to submit claims using a superbill. Medicare beneficiaries are required to receive physical therapy services from a Medicare enrolled providers. As a result, Trifecta PT is currently providing only health maintenance, prevention, fitness training, and wellness services to clients with Medicare. If you are needing skilled physical therapy services, I can refer you to highly skilled physical therapists in the area who are contracted with Medicare. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any specific questions about the services covered by health insurance.
