Health Coaching & Mentorship Services
I embrace the World Health Organization's definition of health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Everyone has the potential to live in good health, but living a life the centers on healthy longevity is a commitment and daily practice. This is where health coaching and health mentorship can help!
What's the difference between a coach and a mentor?
-
A coach focuses on helping you refine and reach the goals you may already have in mind.
-
A mentor can help you figure out what is important to you by providing a non-judgemental space for self-reflection, propose alternative perspectives, and reveal blind spots in your thinking. Mentorship is about personal discovery and growth. It doesn't have a clear 'goal' that is 'achieved' in the same way that coaching does.

How does health coaching & mentorship work?
-
Health coaching and mentorship is a combination of talking and doing.
-
The talking allows us to help us clearly define your goals and set up a structure that can help you achieve that goal. These sessions will be done virtually via video call.
-
The doing includes the action items that you will do on your own between sessions and/or guided sessions where I will be doing them with you for safety, encouragement, and real-time feedback. If guided sessions are necessary, they can be done virtually or in-person, depending on the task or activity.
- Periodic check-in sessions dedicated to reflection and assessment of the process.
How is this different from physical therapy?
-
Physical therapy is part of the healthcare system, which has historically focused on "treating" the functional issues that come from having a disease, injury, or illness. Thus, even though the way I practice physical therapy is holistic, the clinical reasoning used during physical therapy is still rooted in biomedical ways of viewing health.
-
Health coaching and mentorship not necessarily tied to any specific disease, injury, or illness. It centers health around promoting multidimensional well-being instead of disease/injury. The focus is on helping you adopt the lifestyle and health behaviors that help you feel well and healthy.
